Dorm
Avenue Louis-Favre 4, 1024 Ecublens
L'Atrium offre le privilège de vivre au cœur du campus de l'EPFL dans un complexe à l'architecture contemporaine intégrant des arcades commerciales avec restaurants, supermarchés, clinique médicale, etc.
It was a great experience. I shared an apartment with five other people and my room was well-accommodated with a private bathroom. The only downside was that some of my roommates weren’t very tidy but otherwise it was a very good location. Migros and Denner are a minute away and the metro station is just a minute walk. EPFL is five minutes away on foot.
Amazing dorm! The best one in Lausanne. Amazing location, Amazing amenities (Migros, gym, ...). Could only recommend

Great proximity to EPFL Campus. The Migros is literally part of the same building, it's the best located dorm for EPFL students.
Definitely one of the better student dorms out there. Atrium has a vibrant student atmosphere, and the rooms are well equipped. Having a private bathroom is a huge plus and honestly makes a big difference to everyday life. While I was fortunate to have cooperative roommates, I know things could easily have turned out differently. The walls don't provide much sound insulation, so noise can sometimes be an issue. The monthly room inspections are also fairly strict, especially when it comes to cleanliness. Still, considering everything it offers, Atrium remains one of the best value-for-money student housing options.

Overall great but the heating system doesn’t work properly so in winter it gets really cold. Cleaning checks were also unjustifiably strict.
Atrium FMEL is a great residence thanks to its unbeatable proximity to EPFL, making daily commutes effortless. At the bottom of the building, you’ll find markets, a fast food and a bar, which adds real convenience for students. The metro is directly connected, offering fast access to Lausanne and other parts of the city. This combination of location and amenities makes life smoother and more practical. Overall, it’s a solid option for students who value accessibility and comfort.
The experience at Atrium depends a lot on the roommates. The shared kitchen can be difficult to manage because even if three people are clean, one messy roommate can make the whole space unpleasant. Sharing tasks is also complicated and can feel unfair at times. Noise is another issue: you can hear almost everything happening in the kitchen from the room, including conversations, cooking sounds, or general activity. Smells from the kitchen, especially when people cook spicy food, can also spread easily. Since the flat is shared by four people, the comfort really depends on everyone’s habits and respect for common spaces.
