Have stayed there for 4 years. Probably the best student accommodation out there in terms peace of mind and comfort. You never hear noise coming from other studios, living in this residence is very enjoyable. The only downside is that it's quite cumbersome to move around Lausanne as it's located in an isolated area. It's a bit expensive, but quality comes with a price. Something you won't find in other residences. I Would definitely recommend it, 100%.
For me the residence stands out on two fronts: the building is genuinely modern and well-maintained, and weekly cleaning is included in the rent, which keeps the common areas and units to a standard most student housing in the region doesn't match. The environment is quiet, Echandens is a residential village rather than a campus zone, so noise is essentially a non-issue. The trade-off is location: while bus 705 reaches EPFL in about 10 minutes, it runs only every 20–30 minutes off-peak and has limited evening service, so anything beyond a standard EPFL commute (Lausanne city center, late nights out, last-minute groceries) requires planning, and getting back after midnight typically means a taxi or Uber. If your priorities are quiet, comfort, and proximity to EPFL specifically, it's hard to beat. If you want to be embedded in student life or walk to a bar, look elsewhere.
